Byron’s drinking problems were worsening. He gave several unsuccessful concerts. On February 28, 1985, David Byron was found dead in his apartment. The cause of death was a heart attack. He did not die of alcoholism, but its long-term effects were evident. By this time Byron had given up drinking and no alcohol was found in his blood; moreover, not a drop of alcohol was found in the singer’s home.
