Meet, one of the founders of the Paradise Lost band, guitarist and main composer Greg Mackintosh, has always been famous for his love of more extreme music. It’s enough to recall his death metal project Vallenfyre. And in 2018, he founded another gloomy project Strigoi. By the way, Strigoi in Moldovan and Romanian mythology means vampire or witch.
So, the band has already managed to release a debut album in 2019 called Abandon All Faith, where they made a creepy and gloomy mix of death metal with black death. And on September 30 of this year, their second album Viscera will be released on the Season Of Mist label.
The label ‘s statement reads:
From death comes rebirth, as is such with STRIGOI. Formed in the ashes of VALLENFYRE by guitarist/vocalist Gregor Mackintosh (PARADISE LOST) and bassist Chris Casket, the experimental death metal formation is now unleashing their sophomore effort: ‘Viscera’. This devastating brand of death metal pulls sludge and crust elements while lyrically, the album explores themes of both real and conceptual horror, coalescing into what can only be described as the ultimate mixtape of misery.

In the meantime, a new single is available, the video of which can be viewed below.
The group’s statement reads:
King Of All Terror highlights some of the more venomous urgency present on Viscera. From all out blackened grind to sombre doom in less than 3 minutes.
In addition to Gregor Mackintosh (vocals, guitar), the band includes bass guitarist Chris Casket, drummer Guido Zima and guitarist Ben Ash.
