David Ellefson after leaving Megadeth, engaged in numerous projects from hard rock to death metal. So, meet me – another project together with vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, who worked with Yngwie Malmsteen, and is now the vocalist of the supergroups Sons of Apollo and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In general, the project itself was launched back in 2021, a few months before David was fired. It was then that the musicians announced that they were collaborating on a project called Ellefson-Soto and released a cover version of the song Swords & Tequila by Riot, the video can be viewed below.
And recently it became known that the project will release a full-length debut album “Vacation In The Underworld” on October 7 on the Rat Pak Records label. The duo is joined by Andy Martongelli on guitar and keyboards and Paulo Caridi on drums.

“Vacation In The Underworld” was produced by Chris Colfer and includes eleven tracks and three bonus recordings.
From the incendiary guitar solo in the debut album “Vacation In The Underworld” to the rage of prog metal in the closer “Rise To Win”, the debut album demonstrates the various influences that David and Jeff have adopted over four decades in music. Giada Jade Etro from the Italian power metal band Frozen Crown performs as a guest on “The Day Before Tomorrow”. Steve Cooley and Ken Mary from Flotsam and Jetsam perform the title track “Vacation In The Underworld”.

To officially launch the project, David and Jeff will play two exclusive concerts in September in Italy, where they will perform some of the new music.
