Meet the veterans of Canadian thrash metal Razor with a new album for 25 years

The legendary Canadian thrash metal band Razor returns with their first new album in 25 years, which is called Cycle Of Contempt and will be released on September 23 on the Relapse label.

The band was formed back in 1984 by guitarist Dave Carlo and bassist Mike Campagnolo, who have remained in the band since the original line-up and now. From 1985 to 1988 inclusive, the band managed to release as many as 5 studio albums representing classic thrash-speed metal and allowed Razor, along with Annihilator, Voivod and Exciter, to lead the Canadian thrash movement. The band disbanded in 1992, but reformed in the late 1990s to record another album called “Decibels” in 1997, which is the last to date.

And recently it became known about the release of a fresh album. The official lyric video for the first song from the album “Flames Of Hatred” can be seen below.

Guitarist Dave Carlo said:

We are so psyched to finally offer this recording to our awesome and patient fanbase! It was our pleasure to make this for you and we sincerely hope you feel it was worth the wait. Play it loud my friends!

Judging by the first track presented, it will be a typical old-school fast thrash metal with punk energy.

Razor currently consists of founding guitarist Dave Carlo and bassist Mike Campagnolo, as well as vocalist Bob Reed, who has performed on the band’s last three albums, and drummer Rider Johnson, who joined in 2014.

In general, we are waiting for the release of a new album!
