Cliff Burton Died

The former Metallica bass player died on September 27, 1986, while on a European tour in support of the new Master of Puppets album. The driver of the bus on which the band was travelling lost control, and after a long skid, the bus crashed off the embankment onto its side. Cliff was halfway out the window when the bus fell and was run over by the bus. He was 24 years old.

The sixth studio album by American thrash metal band Slayer, released September 27th, 1994 on American Recordings, was Slayer’s first album recorded with drummer Paul Bostaph replacing Dave Lombardo. The musicians themselves admitted that the album was not very successful, because the band had to move from one studio to another and they had to change the producer.
